Product Characteristics:
1.Compatibility: TPU3681A exhibits excellent compatibility with various resins such as PVC, PE, PP, EVA, TPE, TPO, and TPR. Its addition does not cause issues such as delamination, surface roughness, reduced transparency, or decreased mechanical strength.
2. Wear resistance: TPU3681A exhibits a wear volume of 30–40 mm³ (per German standard DIN ISO 4649:2024), passes the Taber wear test after 3,000 cycles (per ISO 5470-1 or using a grinding wheel CS-10 under 5,000 g per QB/T2726-2005), exceeds 80,000 revolutions in the Martindell wear test (per ISO 12947-14 or GB/T21196.2-2007), and achieves 100,000 cycles in the Vickers wear test (per ASTM D4157), making it one of the best rubber-plastic materials for high wear resistance and the preferred choice for applications requiring exceptional durability. Wear performance can also be customized according to customer specifications.
3. Mechanical Properties. TPU3681A exhibits excellent mechanical properties when tested according to ISO 37:2023 or ASTM D412:2016 standards: it achieves a tensile strength of 18 N/mm² (18 MPa), a elongation at break of up to 800%, a tear strength of 85 N/mm, and low-temperature bending resistance exceeding 30,000 cycles at-20°C (per ISO 132 or SATRA TM31). It demonstrates outstanding elasticity, exceptional toughness, and resistance to compressive deformation, making it the material of choice for applications requiring high elasticity, toughness, bending resistance, and compressive deformation resistance. These properties can also be customized according to customer specifications.
4. Hydrolysis resistance. TPU3681A exhibits poor hydrolysis resistance and is not suitable for environments with frequent water exposure or prolonged moisture conditions; however, occasional water contact or brief exposure to humid conditions pose no significant issues.
5. Yellowing resistance. The yellowing resistance of TPU3681A is moderate; to prevent significant yellowing within 1–2 years, the yellowing resistance must be ≥ Grade 4 (according to ASTM G154, ISO 4892-3, or GB/T 14522). Customers may additionally incorporate ultraviolet absorbers and antioxidants as required.
6. Oil and chemical resistance. TPU is a polymer material containing both polar and non-polar groups, exhibiting generally low affinity for non-polar oils. It remains virtually unaffected by fuel oils (e.g., kerosene, gasoline) and mechanical oils (e.g., hydraulic oil, engine oil, lubricating oil), demonstrating excellent oil and chemical resistance, making it suitable for environments with frequent exposure to oils or chemicals.
7. Low-temperature resistance. TPU3681A exhibits excellent low-temperature performance, capable of withstanding temperatures down to-30°C.
8. Environmental compliance: TPU3681 products meet various environmental standards including REACH 256, EN71-3:2021, ROHS 2.0, CPSIA, EN1122, Directive 2005/84/EC and Directive 2002/61/EC, as well as GS requirements.
Use and Administration:
1.TPU3681A can be used independently and is primarily applied in industrial components, footwear materials, automotive parts, and other applications requiring high wear resistance, excellent elasticity, good flexibility, as well as resistance to oils and chemicals. It is widely utilized in the production of products such as synthetic leather, films, hoses, sealing strips, sporting goods, wires, and pads.
2.TPU3681A can also serve as a high elasticizer and wear-resistant agent for resins such as PVC, PE, PP, EVA, TPE, TPO, and TPR, and can be blended with these resins in any ratio; however, thorough mixing is essential—particularly for PVC, where it must be blended with a plasticizer to achieve proper plasticization and adequate softness; the use of pure PVC powder alone is not recommended. For example, a formulation of 60 parts TPU3681A plus 40 parts PVC base material or 40 parts TPU3681A plus 60 parts PVC base material may be employed. Typically, blending 70 kg of PVC base material with 30 kg of TPU3681A (7:3) or 50 kg of PVC base material with 50 kg of TPU3681A (5:5) significantly enhances the product's elasticity, toughness, hand feel, and wear resistance, with these ratios offering optimal cost-effectiveness.
3.Applicable processing techniques: TPU3681A and its alloys with other resins can be processed by methods such as calendering, extrusion, and injection molding; this model is not suitable for casting.
4.Reference processing temperatures: (1) Rolling: ① For pure TPU 3681A: rolling reference temperatures are as follows: internal mixer – 120°C; open mill – 145°C; extrusion – 130–140°C; front roller – 140–160°C; upper roller – 140–160°C; middle roller – 140–150°C; lower roller – 150°C; fabric guide roller – 120°C; ② For blends of PVC matrix + TPU 3681A: rolling temperatures are 120°C for internal mixing, 145°C for open milling, 130°C for extrusion, 150°C for both front and upper rollers, 155°C for the middle roller, 155–160°C for the lower roller, and 120°C for the fabric guide roller; ③ For blends of other resins with TPU 3681A, the rolling temperature should fall between that of the individual resin and that of pure TPU 3681A.
5.Lubrication performance: TPU3681A inherently exhibits excellent lubricity, ensuring good demolding properties without the need for external lubricants, particularly preventing adhesion to rolling rollers.
6.Thermal stability during processing: ① When TPU3681A is used alone, no thermal stabilizer or antioxidant is generally required at processing temperatures below 160°C; under stringent requirements, add 0.3% of antioxidant 1098 and 0.2% of antioxidant 168. ② When TPU3681A is blended with other resins, the stabilizers or antioxidants used for those resins are also applicable to TPU3681A, typically eliminating the need for additional additives; under high-performance requirements, add 0.3% of antioxidant 1098 and 0.2% of antioxidant 168.
