I. Characteristics: BR-1585 is a liquid rubber free from phthalate-based plasticizers. It is non-toxic, transparent, cold-resistant, plasticizing, possesses a favorable tactile feel, and exhibits excellent elasticity, with all properties being highly superior.
II.main application :
1. As a cold-resistant agent for PVC: BR-1585 can withstand temperatures ranging from-40°C to-50°C, making it a suitable 1:1 substitute for DOS as a cold-resistant plasticizer in PVC formulations. This allows the original composition of DOS plus other plasticizers to be replaced with BR-1585 combined with other plasticizers. For optimal cold resistance without phase separation, a dosage ratio of 10–30 parts BR-1585 to other plasticizers is recommended. The resulting product exhibits both elasticity and excellent cold resistance—characteristics unattainable with DOS alone. For applications requiring both elasticity and cost-effectiveness, a blend of BR-1585, DOS, and additional plasticizers may be employed.
2. As an elastic modifier for PVC.
Based on the original soft PVC formulation, adding 10–30 kg of liquid rubber per 100 kg of PVC while correspondingly reducing the amounts of DOP, DINP, or DOTP yields a product with excellent elasticity at minimal cost increase. Its tactile feel and elasticity surpass those of powdered nitrile; moreover, due to effective dispersion, it functions as a plasticizer, enabling reduced usage of other plasticizers and lower costs. In contrast, powdered nitrile suffers from poor dispersion, rendering it ineffective as a plasticizer and necessitating higher amounts of other plasticizers, resulting in higher costs. Additionally, the product is odorless and meets VOC requirements.
3. As the primary plasticizer for PVC: Due to its excellent compatibility with PVC, BR-1585 can replace DOP, DINP, and DOTP as the main plasticizer in PVC or other rubber compounds, and can be added in large quantities (up to 50 parts) without causing precipitation. In the production of ultra-soft PVC products requiring high-oil-content plasticizers, plasticizer precipitation is often a common issue. Using BR-1585 allows for partial or complete substitution of plasticizers while maintaining flexibility and preventing precipitation. It is therefore the preferred and indispensable plasticizer for ultra-soft PVC products, which exhibit exceptional elasticity and hand feel. Consequently, BR-1585 is recognized as a premier polymer plasticizer.
III. Specific Usage Instructions:
1.For producing cold-resistant products using the general suspension PVC calendering process, where customers require resistance below-40°C, the box-packed BR1585 formulation is recommended. Each 20 kg box contains four bags, with each bag holding 5 kg of material. The bags are packaged in two layers of high-VA-content EVA film. During feeding, first cut the packaging tape with scissors, then add both the EVA bags and the enclosed BR1585 to a high-speed mixer (using EVA pre-melted at 70°C) and mix thoroughly; do not use a internal mixer. This formulation can be used exactly as a conventional plasticizer. Customer feedback from recent years indicates that high-VA EVA exhibits excellent compatibility with PVC, and the addition of this small amount of EVA film poses no compatibility issues during PVC plasticizing.
Please note that the amount of BR1585 added to the mixer corresponds directly to the reduction in plasticizer required in the formulation, thereby lowering costs while preventing excessive softening.
2. For paste-form PVC applications requiring resistance below-40°C, only barrel-packed BR1585 (20 kg or 180 kg per barrel) may be used. During application, simply add BR1585 to the mixing tank and blend it with other materials. Note: The amount of BR1585 added must correspond precisely to the reduction in plasticizer required in the formulation – this ensures cost efficiency while preventing excessive softening.
BR1585 exhibits significantly lighter color than nitrile and has minimal odor, enabling the production of odorless, transparent or white products.
Packaging: 20 kg per box (containing 4 bags, each 5 kg), or 20 kg per barrel (180 kg per barrel); custom specifications are also available upon customer request.
