I. Characteristics: M183 is a liquid rubber free from phthalate-based plasticizers. It is non-toxic, transparent, water-resistant, plasticizing, soft, tactile, and elastic, with all properties surpassing those of powder or liquid nitrile rubber, yet at a lower cost.

II. Main Applications1.

1.High-elasticity agent for PVC

Based on the original soft PVC formulation, adding 10–20 kg of M183 per 100 kg of PVC while reducing the corresponding amount of plasticizer yields a product with excellent elasticity and unchanged softness, with minimal cost increase. Its tactile properties and elasticity surpass those of powder nitrile; moreover, due to effective dispersion, it functions as a plasticizer, allowing reduced usage of other plasticizers and lower costs. In contrast, powder nitrile cannot serve as a plasticizer and thus requires higher amounts of other plasticizers, resulting in higher costs.

2.The main plasticizer used in PVC production

Due to its excellent compatibility with PVC, M183 can serve as a primary plasticizer for PVC or other rubbers, replacing DOP, DINP, and DOTP without causing precipitation even when used in large quantities. In the production of ultra-soft PVC products containing over 100 parts of plasticizer, plasticizer precipitation is often an issue. Substituting 30% of the plasticizer with liquid rubber addresses this problem by maintaining flexibility while preventing precipitation. Consequently, M183 is the preferred and essential plasticizer for ultra-soft PVC products, resulting in excellent elasticity and texture.

III.Precautions for fabrication in Laboratory

1.M183 cannot be added to existing base materials for plate molding because the PVC in the base material has already saturated with other plasticizers and can no longer absorb M183. This would prevent M183 from functioning properly and cause adhesion to the roller.

2.M183 should not be directly added to PVC powder for mixing, as its excessively high viscosity makes it difficult for PVC to absorb, which prevents M183 from functioning properly and causes it to adhere to the roller.

3.The correct procedure is as follows: first, dilute each gram of M183 with 3–4 grams of plasticizer; then mix the diluted material together with other additives into PVC and stir thoroughly until uniform. Only after M183 is fully absorbed by the PVC powder can its functional properties be fully utilized.

IV. Specific Usage Instructions for Production

1.For general-purpose suspended calendered PVC products used at temperatures above-10°C, the M183 package is the preferred choice. Each 20 kg box contains four bags, with each bag weighing 5 kg. The bags feature a double-layer packaging structure: an outer transparent PE bag and an inner EVA film with high VA content. During feeding, first cut the packaging tape with scissors, then discard the outer PE bag (as PE film is incompatible with PVC). Finally, add the inner EVA bag along with its encapsulated liquid rubber to a high-speed mixer (using EVA pre-melted at 70°C) and mix thoroughly; this mixture should not be fed into a internal mixer. Essentially, the liquid rubber can be handled like conventional plasticizers. Customer feedback over recent years indicates that EVA with high VA content exhibits excellent compatibility with PVC, and the addition of this small amount of EVA film during PVC plasticizing poses no compatibility issues.

Please note that the amount of M183 added to the mixer corresponds directly to the reduction in plasticizer required in the formulation, thereby lowering costs and preventing excessive softening.

2. When using M183 for paste-form PVC production at temperatures above-10°C, only barrel-packed formulations of 20 kg per barrel are permitted. During application, first dilute M183 with plasticizer (using 4–5 kg of plasticizer per kg of M183), then transfer the diluted mixture into the mixing tank and blend it with other ingredients; do not add M183 directly to the slurry. Note that the amount of plasticizer required in the formulation must correspond exactly to the volume of diluted material added to the mixing tank, which helps reduce costs and prevents excessive softening.

3.

Packaging: 20 kg per box (4 bags, 5 kg each), or 20 kg per barrel; custom specifications are also available upon customer request.

Tax-inclusive factory price: 22 yuan/kg. M183 is significantly cheaper than liquid or powder nitrile but also exhibits a much lighter color and minimal odor, making it suitable for producing odorless, transparent or white products.
