I.Characteristic
1. CR-05 is a liquid rubber free of heavy metals. When added to PVC, it confers significant elasticity to the product and enhances its tactile properties.
2. CR-05 is a liquid rubber free of phthalates with plasticizing properties, capable of replacing an equivalent amount of plasticizer in formulations. Specifically, the addition of a certain number of kilograms of CR-05 reduces the required quantity of plasticizer in the formulation, thereby lowering costs while preventing excessive softness of the product.
3. CR-05 is a liquid rubber free of phosphate esters with flame-retardant properties. In PVC products, CR-05 is combined with CT100 as a carbon additive, demonstrating excellent flame-retardant performance and serving as a viable alternative to expensive antimony trioxide while meeting environmental requirements and reducing flame retardant costs.
II. Main Applications
1.Preparation of high-elasticity soft PVC formulation:
Based on the conventional soft PVC formulation, add 10–20 kg (or 2–4 bags) of CR-05 per 100 kg of PVC resin, while correspondingly reducing plasticizer usage by 80%—i.e., adding 10 kg of CR-05 reduces plasticizer consumption by 8 kg. The resulting product exhibits excellent elasticity without compromising softness, with minimal cost increase.
Specific Usage Instructions
① For general-purpose suspended calendered PVC products used at temperatures above-10°C, the CR-05 package is the preferred choice. Each 20 kg box contains four bags, with each bag holding 5 kg of material. The bags feature a double-layer packaging: an outer transparent PE bag and an inner EVA film with high VA content. During feeding, first cut the packaging tape with scissors, then discard the outer PE bag (as PE film is incompatible with PVC). Finally, add the inner EVA bag along with its encapsulated liquid rubber to a high-speed mixer (where the EVA has reached 70°C melt temperature) and mix thoroughly; this mixture should not be fed into a internal mixer. Essentially, it can be handled like conventional plasticizers. Customer feedback over recent years indicates that EVA with high VA content exhibits excellent compatibility with PVC, and the addition of this small amount of EVA film during PVC plasticizing poses no compatibility issues.
Please note that the amount of CR-05 added to the mixer directly corresponds to the reduction in plasticizer required in the formulation, thereby lowering costs and preventing the product from becoming excessively soft.
② For use with paste-form PVC at temperatures above-10°C, only barrel-packed CR-05 (20 kg per barrel) is permitted. Before application, dilute CR-05 with a plasticizer (use 2–4 kg of plasticizer per 1 kg of CR-05), then transfer the diluted mixture to the mixing tank and combine it with other materials; do not add CR-05 directly to the slurry for mixing.
Please note that the amount of plasticizer required in the material formulation must correspond exactly to the kilograms of diluted material added to the mixing tank. This approach helps reduce costs and prevents the product from becoming excessively soft.
2.As a flame retardant for soft PVC products:
Based on the original soft PVC formulation, adding 20 kg of CR-05 and 10 kg of carbonization agent CT100 per 100 kg of PVC results in a corresponding reduction of 16 kg of plasticizer. The resulting product exhibits excellent flame retardancy, with performance equivalent to that achieved by adding 2 kg of antimony trioxide per 100 kg of PVC, significantly lowering flame retardant costs.
